What successful people do at the beginning of their day
Every morning when you were at school you used to plan your day, so you had to meet your friends and do some ordinary tasks. It`s called home room. And lots of famous people schedule themselves like grown-up home room every morning. You can do this too!
Certainly, the beginning of the day of Craig Newmark of Craigslist, David Karp of Tumblr, motivational speaker Tony Robbins, career writer Brian Tracy starts in different ways. And they will tell you how exactly.
Stop checking your email early
David Karp says that it`s really a bad idea to check your email at the first hour of your day, it`s better to do that at 9.30 or at 10 a.m. There`s no use to read the letters at home, if there`s something urgent, then someone will call you.
Don`t do the work which should be done in the office at home. Checking and answering emails is also a part of your responsibilities, so even if you haven`t accomplished any necessary tasks during the whole day, then one thing will be surely done – checked email!
There`s the application AwayFind which can look for some important emails, received from people you have marked, and you will get an instant notification about the message.
When Tony Robbins got the question of how famous people start their day, his suggestion was to set up “Hour of Power,” “30 Minutes to Thrive,” or at least “Fifteen Minutes to Fulfillment.” Part of this involves exercise, some motivation, but the most important part is 10 minutes to think about what you are grateful, for work, your family, your friends. After that you are to visualize everything you want to get in the future.
Do the SHOULDER-SAGGING things first
Brian Tracy suggests to start the day with choosing own frog in the morning, so you will have it behind you for the rest of the day. You are to choose your own frog and draw it on the paper, so you can see when you come home.
The advantage of it is that you won`t be under control of others and no one will see that, so you have some spare time to be with yourself only.
Ask yourself whether you do what you like
Steve Jobs once said a very interesting question which you are to ask yourself every morning standing in front of the mirror: “If you live each day as it was your last, someday you`ll most certainly be right”. So think well whether the plans for your day are really worth your attention, whether you will do the same things in the last day of your life. No? Then start to change something!
Do your customer service responsibility
It`s a good thing to remember about the customer work at the beginning of the day. It`s important for those people whom you help and for your inner satisfaction as well. So think about families you help, ill children, orphans etc.
Very often we forget about such responsibilities but they should be at the top of our things-to-do list. In such a case, you will feel yourself better and more positive for working day.
